About your solicitor’s bill
If you and your solicitor cannot agree on the amount of the bill, you may be able to have it checked by someone impartial. If your solicitor's bill is for work that didn't involve court proceedings you can complain to us.
Court assessment
The court checks your bill and decides whether it is fair and reasonable. You might need to pay court costs for your bill to be assessed.
If your solicitor's bill is for work that did include court proceedings (e.g. divorce proceedings), only the court can assess your bill. Find out more...
