Data protection notice

The Legal Complaints Service (LCS) is an independent complaints handling body. We are part of the Law Society, but operate independently. All data protection enquiries will be dealt with by the Law Society.

You can apply for a copy of your information (for which we may charge a fee), and to have any mistakes corrected. Data Protection Act enquires and Subject Access Requests should be made in writing to:

Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act came into force on 1 January 2005. It is intended to promote a culture of openness among public authorities and to give people the right to access much of the information they hold.

For more information, see the Information Commissioner's website.

The Legal Complaints Service is not a designated public authority under the Freedom of Information Act but, along with the Law Society, has adopted a Code of Practice to voluntarily comply with the Act.
